Summary: Microbiome Interpretation is for general education only. It is not medical advice. Do not use it to diagnose, treat, or delay care for any condition. Always seek qualified clinical advice for symptoms, abnormal test results, or changes to diet, supplements, or medication.

Not a substitute for professional care

Nothing on this website, including species pages, marker explanations, symptom routing tables, diet discussions, or literature summaries , constitutes medical advice, nursing advice, dietetic prescription, or any other form of professional healthcare.

A consumer microbiome report describes a sample at one point in time using methods and reference ranges chosen by the lab. It is not a complete clinical assessment. Many important conditions (including inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, infection, and cancer) require examination, history, and tests that stool sequencing cannot replace.

If you have alarm symptoms, such as blood in stool, unintentional weight loss, persistent fever, worsening pain, or difficulty swallowing, seek medical care promptly. See Red flags, when to seek clinical care first.

No doctor–patient relationship

Using this site, searching its pages, or emailing the contact address does not create a doctor–patient, clinician–client, or any other professional relationship. We do not provide personalised interpretation of your report, your symptoms, or your treatment plan by email or any other channel.

Please do not send medical records, full test reports, photographs of stool, or other personal health information to the contact address. We cannot review them and cannot keep them confidential in a clinical sense.

Evidence limits and uncertainty

Microbiome research is fast-moving and often conflicting. Pages on this site describe evidence tiers and study limits, but summaries can become outdated or incomplete. Association in a study does not prove that changing a microbe on a report will change your symptoms or long-term health.

Animal and in vitro findings are labelled where relevant; they do not automatically transfer to human supplement or diet decisions.

Diet, supplements, and medications

Discussions of fibre, FODMAPs, probiotics, antibiotics, and similar topics are informational. They are not instructions to start, stop, or change any treatment. Diet trials and supplements can cause harm in some people (for example, restrictive diets without supervision, or probiotics after certain illnesses). Discuss changes with a qualified clinician, especially if you are pregnant, immunocompromised, have a chronic condition, or take prescription medication.
